Our luxurious Rotorua Spa therapies use the famous, mineral rich geothermal muds of Rotorua. Our highly regarded massage therapies are based on the historical Mirimiri healing practices of local Maori people. To complete your pampering package, you can also enjoy a manicure, luxury spa pedicure, or even a fragrant steaming, herbal sauna. Our Rotorua Spa incorporates nine therapy rooms including two couples’ rooms.

Wai Ora means 'healing waters' and a popular treatment for visitors to our unique Rotorua spa complex is the Wai Ora Water Experience. This experience involves a combination of hot spa pools and a solar heated pool, all located beside a clear, spring fed, fast flowing trout stream. We believe that our highly trained, friendly and experienced staff offer the best range of Spa services in Rotorua.

All guests, staying in our Rotorua hotel accommodation enjoy full access to the Wai Ora Spa Water Experience facilities as well as the cooler, refreshing swimming pool overlooking Lake Rotorua. Our Day Spa clients undertaking massage therapies, body spa therapies or manicures & pedicures are also welcome to enjoy the Wai Ora Spa Water Experience.

Wai Ora Lakeside Spa Resort in Rotorua proudly uses the "Alite" Spa product range designed to utilize the unique properties of Rotorua’s mineral-enriched mud. Geothermal mud from Hells Gate Geothermal Reserve has been combined with some of New Zealand’s finest natural ingredients including Manuka oil (Tea Tree Oil) and Manuka honey to develop a comprehensive skin care regime.

Rotorua’s unique geothermal mud is renowned for its healing and invigorating properties. This mineral-enriched mud provides an excellent source of silica, alumina, magnesium, calcium, iron, titanium, sulphur, phosphorous, sodium and potassium as well as trace elements such as copper, zinc, selenium, cobalt, manganese and molybdenum.

This gorgeous range of products is perfect for detoxifying and purifying tired skin, absorbing excess oils from pores and natural anti-bacterial agents work to assist in the prevention of acne and break outs. Alite has a range of scrubs, masks, oils, lotions and salts for the face and the body.

These natural products combined with our range of spa therapies from Wai Ora Lakeside Day Spa - including massage, facials,body scrubs and beauty therapies - will leave you feeling fresh, invigorated and alive.

The Alite range has been extensively trialled both internationally and in New Zealand on a range of skin types. The product has not been tested on animals. The Alite Mud Spa product range has been designed to be non-allergenic for most skin types.

The alite product range is used on site at the World Luxury Spa Award Winning Day Spa as part of the New Zealand Cultural Spa Regime which specializes in Rotorua geothermal mud spa therapies.

The unique geothermal muds and waters of Rotorua are renown for their their curative and invigorating properties and this is particularly so at "Hells Gate" - Rotorua's most active geothermal reserve. For more than seven hundred years "Hells Gate" has been a special place of wellness with the unique qualities of the muds and waters being sought after and many documented and medically certified cures being effected.

Aside from being mineral enriched the "Hells Gate" geothermal muds include a very strong affinity to moisture in the skin making it an excellent product for

promoting regenerating skin cells
detoxifies and purifies the skin while drying with highly active clay surfaces easily absorbing excess fatty secretions form within the skin's pores Bactericidal properties of the mud through it's sulphur content also kill bacteria and assists in the prevention and elimination of acne.

The geothermal muds have been combined with some of New Zealand's word renown essences- in particular Manuka Oil (tea tree oil), Manuka Honey and New Zealand milk to create the high quality spa product range, known as "Alite". This unique range is lightly perfumed with extract of a rose first grown at "Hells Gate" 162 years ago and still is still growing wild there today. The Alite Mud Spa product range has been developed with the goal of utilizing the unique properties of the "Hells Gate" muds to create a truly invigorating skin care product range.
